Today's university and college students are tomorrow's leaders. In recognition of the long history Procept and its instructors have teaching project management and business analysis skills to undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate students, Procept is pleased to offer the Farndale Scholarships. These scholarships are intended to make professional-level management training available to high-potential students.
The scholarships are named after Keith Farndale, one of Procept's founders and a leading figure in the establishment of the project management profession in Canada.
The Farndale Scholarships are open to all post-secondary students who have taken a project management course at the post-secondary level within the past two years. (Academic programs only — non-credit continuing education courses do not qualify.) Students will receive a 100% tuition bursary towards professional-level, public-enrollment courses run by Procept. Students will only have to pay a nominal fee to cover the costs of course materials and any 3rd party certification exams included in the course. A maximum of two scholarship positions will be eligible in any individual course session. Students must be enrolled in a college or university located in Canada or the USA.
Applicants are asked to email the following to scholarship@procept.com:
Keith Farndale was a co-founder of Procept Associates Ltd. in 1983 and remained its president from its founding until his retirement in 2015. Farndale is an influential figure in the establishment of professional project management training in Canada, creating the first professional PMP exam preparation course at the Professional Development Centre of the University of Toronto's Faculty of Engineering in 1994. Farndale established Procept as PMI's first Registered Education Provider in Canada, and one of the first to be established globally.
As past president of PMI's Southern Ontario Chapter, and later as a director of the Project Management Association of Canada, Farndale is a well-known figure in the Canadian project management community. His contributions were numerous including writing Farndale's PMP and CAPM Preparation Guide, first published in 1994 and in its 23rd edition at the time of this writing — one of the first PMP exam preparation books ever published.
A well-liked presenter at ProjectWorld and PMI chapter events, Farndale still teaches project management in the University of Toronto's Master of Engineering program.
