Establishing a PMO

PROBLEM

City needed help establishing a PMO for its IT projects.

SOLUTION

Provided counsel on best practices for PMO setup and helped to develop the PMO business case and a project governance framework.

Procept was hired to provide project management support services for the establishment of a Project Management Office for city-wide IT projects. The support services were also extended to other projects later on.

Some of the project support services we provided included:

  • Review and recommendations on the business case to acquire funding from the City’s board.
  • Review and recommendations on the project charter.
  • Support in the planning process and preparation of the project management plan including a budget.
  • Review and recommendations on the project management policy and governance.
