PriceWaterhouseCoopers has been regularly hosting a small 1-day project management conference at its offices at 18 York Street in Toronto. The conference goes beyond PM basics, covering more advanced PM topics. The next event, being held on September 14, 2019 is being co-sponsored by the Project Management Association of Canada (PMAC) and Procept, in our first ever partnership with PwC.
Speaking at the event will be two of Procept's associates: Sylvie Edwards and Mark Peco. In addition, Procept is providing door prizes for the event.
Edwards will be presenting "Variations on a PMO: All PMOs are Not Created Equally". Her presentation starts with defining the different types of PMOs and their various functions, how the different types reflect different levels of PM maturity, and guidelines for PMO implementation.
Peco will present "Reducing Delivery Risk: Building Program Decision-Making Capability". Companies typically implement business improvement and transformation initiatives within a program delivery model. Programs coordinate multiple projects and services that collectively create new business capabilities required to drive the desired change. Peco's session discusses how a capability modeling approach can be used by program planners and managers to identify and mitigate key risk areas that could compromise the success of their initiatives.
