Project Management has become a core skill for people who work in many sectors including festivals and events, tourism, hospitality, not-for-profit, education, service organizations, fundraising, the arts, and sports management, to name a few. One of the barriers that people in those sectors have experienced is that many project management courses are designed for those who work in information technology, engineering, or heavy industries. But now there is Project Management for Festivals, Events, and Hospitality and it was created to provide key tools to those who are managing projects in less traditional project environments.
This course has an accessible case study and an instructor who has many years of experience on projects similar to those of the target audience of this course. Course participants work in project teams to practice project management tools while they experience the realistic challenges that are encountered on projects. There is a special emphasis on project initiation and on how to create a project plan. At the end of the course, participants will be able to immediately start using their new skills that will increase their level of success on projects.
This practical, hands-on course is normally delivered in 2 days, but there is the option of a 3-day in-house delivery with participants creating a plan for one of their own projects.
