John Colville originally obtained a degree in Building B.Sc.(Eng) from Falmer College part of Brighton Polytechnic. He is now non-practising but has substantial experience in the specialist fields of training design and delivery, building and facilities management, marketing and organisational management. Colville was employed by the UK Government’s Property Services Agency for eighteen years, before being head hunted to lead a new venture within WTI Training Group. WTI saw Colville promoted from Senior Training Consultant to Business Development Manager and saw him further his management, analysis, marketing and people skills.
During his career, he has designed and delivered training events for both private and public sector companies, in UK and overseas including Inland Revenue, DEFRA, H M Customs and Excise, MOD, CPS, Rank Xerox (now Xerox Document Company), Glaxo, HM Land Registry, Northern Electric, Malaysia Telekom, Jones Lang LaSalle (Asia Pacific) and the AA. These courses included Contract Law, Health & Safety, and Project Management/Sponsorship.
John also has a Training Diploma with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (GradCITB) (MCIPD), and a Facilities Management Diploma with the British Institute of Facilities Management DipFM(MBIFM). He is also a qualified professional through the Institute of Maintenance and Building Management (MIMBM) and a full member of the ‘asapm’ with CPP credential to level C.
John has extensive project management competency as a result of direct industry experience and is a professional member of the American Society for the Advancement of Project Management (asapm). John's company Proportion works closely with the ‘asapm’ in the USA as their Competency Provider for PM Training and their only provider of the IPMA Level D program.
